Liquified Future: Is dissolvable material the answer for a more sustainable life? The development of dissolvable material is rapidly growing over the past few years, with for instance water-soluble plastic and acid soluble metal replacing present-day non-recyclable materials. These materials are sold to us as the sustainable solution or the savoir of our waste issue. This project questions this seemingly simple ‘solution’. By imaging a future of liquified waste, here shown as part of home life–the kitchen, how would our everyday life look like? In this scenario, we can dissolve our electronic waste and turn it into a liquified mass to be stored at home. But is this transformation of material the answer, or does our waste issue asks for a fundamental change of thinking in relationship to consumerism?
