EX-FOR-MATION

Exformation is more than simply acknowledging the limits of our knowledge, but of actively reaching out towards the unknown. The old adage of ‘the more you know, the more you know you don’t know’ still rings true; but instead of being a lament, through Exformation we are embracing a constant search that recognises the limits of what can be known.

In this, we are exploring the potential for new ideas, new modes of thinking, and new methods of engagement with the world through the embracing of what we do not know. In a contemporary context where power and authority is increasingly siloed in technological systems that few people will ever know completely, we see not-knowing as a provocation.

It is precisely this indeterminancy that our design seeks to embrace. We move toward complexity and problmetising and away from certain fixes and solid solutions. Design is a transformative global vocabulary with the potential to reflect the nascent reality of the mileu. Here is where we make our claim on what we do not know.
